KEY STAGE 3

During Key Stage 3 students work on projects covering drawing, painting and sculpture. Students work from observation and imagination and respond creativelyto a variety of ideas. They are encouraged to research and develop ideas in sketchbooks and sustain activities through to completion increasingly showing the ability to communicate through visual language. Through practical work students are introduced to the work of prominent artist and cultural styles, utilising distinctive styles in the development of their own work.

 

KEY STAGE 4

GCSE Fine Art: Students are introduced to a variety of experiences exploring arange of Fine Art media, techniques and processes, including both traditional and new technologies. Responses to selected source material must be shown through practical and critical activities which demonstrate the students’ understanding ofdifferent styles, genres and traditions.
