Preparing for Exams

Preparation for exams is vitally important. The partnership between home and the College is crucial in preparing our young people for those exams. Here we provide easy access to a number of resources designed to help parents as you support your child through the process of preparation and revision:

Year 11 Practice Exam week

The Year 11 practice examination period takes place in December.

During this examination period, timetabled lessons will be cancelled, however, there will be no study leave. Students are required to attend College at their normal times for registration.  Revision sessions will be provided when students are not sitting an exam.  Students should be present at their exam location at least 15 minutes before the start of the exam and they must be in school uniform throughout the period.

For these practice exams, we are seeking assistance from parents in ensuring their child revises effectively leading up to their practice exams.  As a guide, we expect students to be completing at least one hour of revision each evening and three hours on Saturdays and Sundays. Research suggests that revising for 30 minutes followed by a 10 minute break is the most effective way to retain the information.

The timetable for this week will be posted here
